Calling All Girls 12 to 14 Years Old!
GEMS, which is designed to minister to girls from 12 to 14 years of age, stands for:

• Girls for God
• Empowered/Equipped
• Mentored/Ministered
• Successful for Service

The trained and caring staff and volunteers of GEMS are committed to helping young ladies grow in every area of their lives.

GEMS Supports Spiritual Development

• Encourages girls to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and commit to live for Him
• Builds godly character
• Trains girls in developing daily Bible reading
• Promotes a healthy prayer life
• Encourages girls to grow in faith and to be open and honest about themselves
• Helps young ladies to recognize God’s Word as the final authority
• Teaches how to apply biblical principles to daily challenge
• Guides girls in never settling for less, but to strive for God’s best
• Instructs each young lady to accept personal responsibility for her decisions and actions
• Assists girls in knowing who they are in Christ and understanding His love for them
• Helps them to identify their gifts and talents and God’s purpose for their lives
• Nurtures young ladies in their growing relationships with Jesus Christ

GEMS Encourages Emotional Development

• Encourages young ladies to think pure thoughts
• Helps them to have positive attitudes
• Builds healthy self-confidence and self-esteem
• Helps girls to set clear and realistic goals

GEMS Promotes Physical and Personal Development

• Provides opportunities for and encourages participation in activities for physical fitness
• Teaches every girl to know that God has made her beautiful
• Trains each one to dress modestly with a respectful appearance

GEMS Strengthens Social Development

• Builds a network with other teen believers through fun and fellowship
• Instructs girls in social etiquette
• Teaches them how to respect and obey authority
• Encourages young ladies to have the courage to resist peer pressure
• Helps them to know that it’s okay to be different because they serve God
• Teaches how to establish healthy relationships
• Guides young ladies through growing relationships

GEMS Advances Academic Development

• Supports girls in making the transition from junior to senior high school
• Strives for every girl to be promoted and work toward a diploma
• Encourages young ladies to develop good study habits
• Helps them reach for high academic goals
